Hi Mike, I don't think so?

Even though I do not know the badge, I suspect Belgian Rexist or the like, due to the ragged cross of Burgundy?

The rampant lion made me think Flemish as well. The problem with that theory is the Rexists were Walloons.....More research and tea needed.

    Cheers, Ade.

I am certain you are correct Ade. It is called a Rexist badge but was placed by the seller under the Finnish category with this description: "...central design of the "red crossed twigs" surmounted with a Finnish rampant lion".

I suspected it was not Finnish but was not completely sure. It was sold - hopefully the purchaser knew its true identity.

    Defenetly, Belgian.
It rings a bell, but not sure about it...it is post war to me!
Certainly not Flemish, to be Flemish the colors would be inversed, black lion on a yellow( gold!) field.
I'll be back ,hopefully, with the right description.

    Got, it!
It is part of a 1947 medal, probably worn as pin badge on civile cloths.
For soldiers who participated on the occupation of old German land parts (even over sea!) that where attribuated to Belguim after the first WW and re-possesd!
Different of the Germany occupation medal who was ment for entyre Germany (what would become West Germany).
    cheers

Thanks Kris. Is it rare or scarce? I'm not particularly interested in it as its outside of my collecting field. Just curious.
