Re: WWI or WWII Australian hat badge
These are reproduced a lot, but the repros are easy to spot, they normally have a heavy varnish on them....and the metal is poor quality and stamping isn't good....they are probaly one of the few badges you can spot a fake and I not know of anyone who goes out of their way to pass them off as original, I dont think it's worth the effort as there's just so many of them about and they are fairly inexpensive , you find them in antique stores and coin shops.....the sliders are the more expensive and are going up in price

Re: WWI or WWII Australian hat badge
Hi guy,s,
thanks for putting on all your badges i have never seen most of them but i think they would make a great collecting piece, i am going to look for other now. I have noticed that what i would call the sun raise on the badges are different,
Some have wider and others have like a rebated ray. but i think this is a normal design.
Dave.
