    Default Leopard 2 drivers periscope......

Received this a couple of days ago, a freebie from a member on this site, a big thanks to Vicky ! (edelweiss123) ....a drivers periscope (Gonlometric mirror) from a Bundeswehr Leopard 2 tank (WiSP 11), still resplendent in its BW disruptive (cammo) paint, Bronzegrun (Green RAL 6031) and Teerschwartz (Black RAL 9021)...Made by "GuS periscopes Gmbh & Co KG, Lubeck", fitted with bulletproof glass and laser filter......NATO stock number 6650-12-178-0335.
The disruptive colour scheme "Fleckentarnanstrich" was adopted in the BW in 1984, and comprised of 3 colours, the two mentioned above and Lederbraun (Brown RAL 8027).
The pictures following those of the periscope, show the position of the periscope............in the first photo, it fits in the hole above the drivers seat and on the second picture, the periscope is in yellow, just below the gun barrel superimposed on the drivers seat......just got to save up for the rest of the tank now !
    Prost ! Steve.

"The German Army is the perfectly adapted, perfectly running Machine. The difference is that the Germans are organised with a view to War...with the cold, hard, practical and business-like purpose of winning victories."
