Hi,
Medal of the African campaign Italo / German. Template Bronze
"Deutsch-Italienische Erinnerungsmedaille an den Afrika-Feldzug in Bronze"
This medal is prohibited in the Wehrmacht after the Italian capitulation.

I have never really known what is depicted on the obverse and reverse of this medal. Can anyone enlighten me.

Nick , i was just thinking that myself , is that a Nile crocodile coming up from the bottom of the medal ?

Hi,
The 2 gladiators are Germany and Italy, the United Kingdom crocodile, bags node (under the arch) the unification of Italy in 1861 and the monument, the arch in Libya (marble arch)
