Italian Officers Cap

Hi everyone, just got this cap because I liked it and it was cheap (£40). Can anyone tell me if its an authentic WW2 cap? Many thanks, Doug

Hi Doug,
it is a nice Italian Army visor cap mod. 1948, belonging to a "Sottotenente"(2nd Lieutenant) of "Genio Pionieri" (Pioneer Engineers).
Your example still has the chin strap buttons with specialty symbol, which is why it is a production of the 50s and 60s, since the early 70s were used the buttons of unique type for all specialties.
This cap model was used with the service uniform, while with the field uniform was used the "basco" beret.
