Saw this at auction with an estimate of £250-350GBP. is that a little low? What do you make of it?

Looks fine to me. As for the price, it's an auction, they usually start low it's the high bid that counts.

Yasumitsu
Not to be confused with a Yasukuni smith (those Yasukuni smiths use a different kanji for Yasu: 靖).

According to Markus Sesko's book, Yasumitsu's real name was

Looks good go for it!
Really nice piece. No way it will sell in that range, yet gunto prices seem to still be moving slowly downward. Who knows? Would be nice to get an update when the sale ends, if you don't mind.
Why would there be 2 holes in the tang?
Cheers,
Tony
This went for £650 with another 22%+VAT for the premium.
Hi Kowloon,
Just looked up the conditions of that auction. Do you know if the 20% VAT is only on the premium, it wasn't clear to me.
Cheers,
Tony
I assumed it was on the premium only. That's how I've seen it work elsewhere, the margin scheme.
