Aircraft compass ?

Article about: While I have your attention gentlemen, this has come across my path. The guy said he thinks its out of a Japanese aircraft or boat from WW2, but I don't know. there is some small marker plat

    While I have your attention gentlemen, this has come across my path.
    The guy said he thinks its out of a Japanese aircraft or boat from WW2, but I don't know.
    there is some small marker plates on the top of it but they don't come out under the camera.
    Any ideas ????? Cause Im stuck on this one, let it go or let go of a compass of a Japanese aircraft or vehicle???
    What to do ??? more importantly what is it ??
