Hi all!
Can someone tell me if this marking is Japanese (this is just my small supposition)?
This marking sometimes occurs on some canteens, similar to the old Russian model M1899 (it was issued for a long time, before the First World War).
The fact is that this marking is absolutely different from the official marking of Russian canteens of this period.
For a long search time, I did not find any exact information about this marking.
I also read that in the beginning of 1915, the Russian quartermasters bought and ordered a large number of military equipment in Japan (including messkits, a saddle for horses, boots, cartridge pouches, etc)
Is it likely that Japan would produce canteens for Russia or not?
Best regards,Michael
