    Geoff, not certain other than navy related in some way or another. I've never seen another like it.

    Nicks response makes sense to me. I can see how terminology can snowball into giving items a life of their own as with the Type 3/Naval Landing Forces sword discussions. I have seen other variation Civil style helmets with what appear to be "Naval associated" type of emblems but as far as what capacity they served I cannot say with certainty.Regards,Geoff

    I just got my first Japanese C.D helmet today.
    I have no idea about what kind it is or what stage of the war it was produced.
    By the liner, I would guess later in the war?

    Agree with Jareth Nice helmet! Liner is in in excellent condition be gentle with it they and the chinstraps can become quite brittle.Perhaps our excellent translators can shed some light on the markings
