    Those are special passes that allowed you to leave the regimental complex without being stopped by the sentries. One is for NCOs living outside the barracks, the other a permit to leave the complex and the third one indicated you were leaving on business by car or on horseback. If you wanted to take something out of the camp, you also needed a written permit for that.

    No mention of material in the pages you show, but most likely in wood.

    The wooden leave passes are quite interesting, with a variety mirroring that of Japanese ID tags. The couple that I have in my collection are stamped with the unit seal in red on one side. They pop up for sale from time to time online, usually mixed in with other smalls that were captured during the war, or misidentified as "wooden dog tags".
