Help with Japanese Compass

Hello everyone,

I have a compass that I'm hoping someone can identify. I am not very familiar with Japanese military equipment, so I'm not sure if this was part of a hand held compass or its was attached to a larger piece of equipment. Any help or comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

I don't see anything Japanese about it, so you need to check China as well. Japanese compasses normally do not indicate all directions in the same color like that.

Thanks for the information Nick. I'll search Chinese militaria and see if I can find anything similar.
