Default Help with Old Tanto and Papers

Hello all,I have acquired this piece from a friend with a set of older papers and could use some help with the translation of the papers and any information about the smith or possible school. I would welcome any other info or comments anyone would care to share.I am quite the novice when it comes to art swords but I am enjoying taking my first shaky steps into the next level so I welcome all comments, Regards,Geoff

I ran across another Inami Kantei-sho 鑑定書 [Certificate of Appraisal] that can be seen via the link below. The pictures and translations above helped to decipher the framed document. Many thanks to Geoff and Guy for the roundabout help.

Kiipu, thanks for the shout-out over at Nihonto Message Board!!

I also see that the kanji I could not decypher is for
    方鑑定白水
    Hō [or kata] Kantei Hakusui

I still do not understand the 方 part.

Guy, I found you another one with those characters. Translation courtesy of our very own SteveM! Does this help with the character identification?

    Guy-san:
“代金子五拾枚”; 代(as in “代金”) means cost or price, 金子, pronounced “kinsu” and not “Kaneko” as in a person’s surname meant coins, originally gold coins but today money in general, so it means “Cost, 50 coins (or even bills)”.
From the context of the document such amount seems to have been the fees for the appraisal, but without a denomination, the exact amount cannot be known.
    Regards,

    Akira

The mystery kanji is NOT but migi [right]!!!!

    鑑定
    Migi [no] Kantei
    The evaluation on the right
[of course in English we would write "The above appraisal"]

I hope SteveM does not read this!!!! 恥ずかしいよっ! How embarassing!!

    Thanks, really;
