署憲兵隊
Sho Kenpeitai
Military Police Station
大鮑島分屯所
Dàbào Dǎo Bunton-sho
[Oawabishima? Big Abalone Island] Sub-Installation
陸官第六三號

I'm wondering if 陸官 has to do with Army Officer? 陸軍士官; I found a Chinese-language example for Army Officer School: 陸軍官校.

Nice work. There's only one small thing. 署 is a part of the 青島軍政 . The complete name is 青島軍政署. What's the best way to translate that name?

2. Maintaining security in the city
As a Qingdao defensive army responsible for the overall administration of Qingdao, the first thing that should be undertaken for the recovery of Qingdao's economy would be to quickly recover the Chinese population, which was reduced by 40% due to battle. To that end, there must have been an urgent need to prevent the disruption of security after the war. The defensive army assigned the military police to take charge of the order and maintenance of Qingdao.
The military police have their headquarters in the military office, branch offices are located in Taitung Town and Oobushima, and in Qingdao, there are Shandong Town (Zhongshan Road), Wei Town (Wa County Road), Jitoku Town (Toku Prefecture) Road stations were established at three locations. Each place is composed of Japanese soldiers and Chinese patrols, and immediately started general police affairs such as doorway investigation and patrol and tried to maintain earnest order, so there are few criminals, Chinese robbery is 4 months after the establishment of military police During that period, there were only 3 cases.

In addition, Ohashima branch office [大抱島] was mainly assigned to the water police using one steamship. For fire fighting, 34 infantry members made up one team and were assigned to the mission.
It is speculated that the recovery of the population of Qingdao Chinese after 1915 after the battle between Japan and Germany would be the result of public recognition of the results of this security maintenance activity.
Dunno how 大抱島 is pronounce in Chinese.

It looks like the article I posted uses the kanji 大抱島 whereas the photo uses 大鮑島.

大抱 and 大鮑 have the same pronunciation in Mandarin Chinese, "dà bào".

I noticed there are two ways to write 憲兵隊: Kempeitai and Kenpeitai. Which is the preferred word?
