PS: Looks upside down to me.
You also have the signature posted upside down. As Stu mentioned, besides a close up of the signature, A complete shot of the complete tang is required. The correct way to shoot this is vertical with the point of the sword being the up and the butt of the tang the bottom.

The "Katsumatsu" name portion of the signature in the image I posted looks very much like the "Katsumasa" on your sword.
Looks like there might be two Katsumasa to choose from:
金谷 勝正 (Kanaya Katsumasa)
勝正 (Katsumasa) Real name: 小島 七右衛門 (Kojima Shichiemon)
