IJA helmet

Article about: Not my area this --- except for the fact that I'm pretty well certain it's an all good period example of the IJA helmet and that it will be in my collection soon I pretty much draw a blank.

    Yes, pretty small for being ventilation holes -- but, like you, I have never seen anything attached using those either... it was just the most logical explanation I could find. I think maybe I got the idea from the Austrian dd Police I have coming, which also has similar small holes which were for attaching an emblem/insignia.

    Thanks! That's just the kind of helmet, or other gear for that matter, I usually find myself looking for... just enough wear, as little post-war cleaning as possible and complete.

    By the way, I just figured out that the liner (liner pad) was produced in 1939/Showa 14. I just love learning these new things!
