Default IJN Kamikaze Pilot Coverall & Yosegaki Scarf

    Hi All,

Would like to share my recent find in Japan, to me the best find by far.

Here are rear set of Shinpu (Kamikaze) pilot' s summer coverall and Yosegaki Scarf.

    Summer coverall belong to
Flight Petty Officer, 2nd Class Morish!ta 森下 二飛曹.

His name and rank was written on the front green name patch, beside the name wrote 佐空 (Sakuu) - 佐世保海軍航空隊 Sasebo Naval Air Unit.

Name was also stitched on the inner collar.

    Inside of tag states:

    - Manufactured by No.2 Food and Clothing Depot

    - Feb, 1944 made

    - Size 1 (Largest issued size)

I did a research and only found might be his photo. (Far Right Individual)

I think he managed to survive the war because war ended before the deployment.

The scarf is a private purchased piece, 2.9m X 0.68m, written from left to right with encouragements and Shinpu Slogans. Very, very rear example.

It is quite a size so I have to tape it on the wall for photo taking.

Nice find and finally something 'Kamikaze' that can be attributed to an individual.

if you don't mind, can I ask how you found it, was it private connection, flea market or shop?
    Thanks,
    Steve.

It is obvious in the photo who the guy was. He is half a head taller than the rest. He looks big and mean enough he could have carried his own bomb with out a plane. Like you said Taka That flight suit is rare when associated with being a kamakaze pilot.
