Info request - Type 99 Machine Gun Scope - Details

Hi everyone.

I believe what I have here is a Japanese Type 99 Machine gun scope. Clicks are to 40, so this tells me for a 99, not 96. Condition appears amazing considering age. The case is in pretty good shape too. Optics are clear.

What are your thoughts, and can anyone give me more detailed information?

Which is more desirable, the 96 or 99, or does it purely depend on the collector and which MG they have?

FYI, you might want to post this over at Gunboards.com as well in the Japanese collector sub forum. There are several Japanese machine gun collectors who frequently post there. Just a thought.
