Imo, that is correct. Good condition ones are in the $800 to $900 range at most dealer sites. I have been looking at a hand painted shipboard blue/grey navy helmet but it is going for $500 more than these rates. On the fence until i can determine if this is a fair price. I just don't know.

Thank you very much for your advice. I would chose a total transparent plastic bag without any imprint or colour to avoid that the bag will lose colour to the helmet. At a website about German imperial spiked helmets I found a simliar advice to use a half globe of styrofoam to relieve its leather structure over all.
