    That was a good deal !

    The scabbard appears to be a late 'last ditch' wood type,
    and the bayonet is earlier...........

    Thanks Guys! I got another bayonet also. But. What rots is that the guy I got the bayonets from already sold a double decal transitional German helmet,U.S. Civil War Calvary saber and a 1944 matching 98k Mauser for $390 to another vendor!!! A high-end militaria dealer was set up a few spaces away. He went over and paid the guy $1300 for the 3 things. Made 2 'phone calls. Sold the helmet for $1000 and the rifle for $800. Rich A. in Pa.
