Japanese Civil-Defence helmet

Here's a few pictures of a Japanese Civil-Defence helmet I purchased last December. I obtained it from a woman in Hiroshimashi - a town which lies a few miles outside Hiroshima. The owners name is written on the liner inside - Tanaka Tokutaro.

I admit my knowledge of Japanese helmets is limited, but I have seen these helmets being sold as 'late war combat helmet with last ditch liner.' There was one being sold on e-bay recently for a fairly large sum. A naval badge had replaced the star on the front, and the helmet was being advertised as a 'vet bring-back naval landing helmet.' I cannot say if these helmets WERE used by the armed forces, all I do know is that the ones being offered for sale in Japan are described as Civil-Defence helmets.

I have just purchased two japanese helmets that appear to be aluminum. are they genuine?
