Default Japanese Fire Department Long Service Badge

I have no idea what any of the script on this says, nor what era this is from, just that it's a fire service award of some sort, I think a national level award. I bought it more or less because I thought it was a very attractive award. Many of these fire fighting badges are quite nice, but this one really was too much to resist.

I hope you enjoy these photos:

Nice. There was a really good website outlining all types of Japanese awards including these that I stumbled across years ago. I will try to find it but doubtful....

That is a long time service badge for the National Firefighting HQ, which existed between 1952 and 1960. So it is a post war badge.

Here's the spec drawing for the post 1960 versions, which are still being awarded today. This badge design is also applied to merit badges which comes in 4 grades. The highest grade has red enamel, then comes dark blue, yellow and white for the lower grades. There is also one in orange for an international cooperation merit award. The design of the badge has not changed since 1952, only the name of the agency on the rear was changed to Fire and Disaster Management Agency in 1960.
