Default Japanese haversack and shoulder straps

Here is a haversack that I picked up with my other flea market finds. Iíve separated it out to its own thread because when I looked inside afterwards I found a set of cotton straps and Iíve not seen anything like this before and I was hoping somebody could add some details.

The bag itself is a complete, 1944 issue, it has and ID disk, some writing on the inner flap and stitched into the front of the bag. I was hoping that the writing may give an indication of which unit used the bag and whether that would shine light on the straps.

The straps are not marked in any way, they look to me like a ĎYí strap, with the ends going over the shoulder and through the metal rings on the waist and tying back on themselves.

By the feel and smell they are old, and the folds give away that they have been worn, I was wondering if they are military or civilian use.

    Thanks,
    Steve.
