Japanese Helmet-But need help finding more info

Hi guys,
I picked this up this morning, I was told that this is a Japanese helmet, but is it WWII? I don't see any markings, and I'm not too familiar with Japanese helmets so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

It looks like a WW2 Japanese civil defence helmet, but its not an armed forces one.

Agreed - Civil type. It is rather different than most like this I've seen
with slight crest and chinstrap loop positions.........
