I have heard of german chicken wire helmets but japanese
is this army or navy

Well, i might be wrong; but it looks to new on some spots. I see some traces of wire on the shell, but not on the most obvious places?I would like to hear your reasoning for this statement.
Could be cleaned though,but i "just dont see it".

I agree, in my opinion the helmet is a nice period example.

At first I thought the wire was bad but at a second glance you can see the age of the wire were it is attached there is some rust good helmet in my opinion
