Japanese Naval Compass?

Hello gents, recently i bought this compass in the local flea market.

Is this part of an IJN naval compass? Or china made compass?

I think you would be best served giving it a wipe off and then try some better photos ....are there any other stamps or markings to the base that are not shown ?

as most of the Japanese navy is at the bottom of the sea's this would be a rare item.

Unfortunately, there's no marking in here.
