I have one very similar to this it is a shame the handle is broken, I believe the mark on the cross guard is for the manufacturer
This is very nice Eric.
Very fancy.

Nice Eric. I love the use of stylised floral designs
on Japanese military items.........
Regards,
Steve.
These are pretty hard to come by in good order, most i believe were destroyed by their owners prior to surrender or imminent capture or went down with their ships etc
These dagger are hard to find as Dave said few as often in good condition, in my opinion one of the best looking japanese edged weapons
Congrats Eric!
One piece that I have been wanting to add to my collection for some time now. Thought I bought one once, it was a copy. I sent it back and haven't had the right opportunity to buy one since.
Unfortunate about the handle but, a nice find none the less.
Ralph.

Thanks again guys. I was not looking for one but that is like most of my items that I buy.
Wish I could concentrate on one subject but what the fun is that

Not every item can be perfect.
But think of the history and where it has been.
