Default Japanese Navy white side cap

Hi, I happened to pick up , what I believe is a Japanese EM white side cap. I have never seen a white one, and was hoping, I may get some thoughts and information (and translations) about this hat. This is a Vet bring back. He was a Marine in WW2.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    It looks to *me* like:

    七五五空
    呉島太造

755 Kū [755 Naval Air Group]
    Kureshima Taizō [Family name/given name]

I looked up 七五五空 and found this on Japanese Wiki Genzan Air Group. The English wiki link [left margin] states, "...The Genzan's flying unit was disbanded by being redesignated as the 755 Kōkūtai on 1 November 1942...."

Any other hit on 755 Kū sends me to the Wiki for Genzan Air Group.

I'm not comfortable with 呉島 Kureshima -- the writing in your cap doesn't fit the "footprint"... maybe the family name is
    矢島
    Yajima.

Thanks. It's nice to put a name/owner to this hat.

That's a real well worn summer navy cap! I've never seen an insignia that aged! Almost looks like cap was coated in white shoe polish.
