no problem, i looked at the links. it is not the same as the prototype sword shown. the one shown has no brass piece on the blade in front of the hand guard, and other differences. hopefully Bob will clear it up.

I have my doubts about this sword. The handle does look like the recent Chinese fakes found on Ebay. Usually the copper handled swords have very low serial numbers (not the 6 digit number shown) and there is no drag on the bottom of the scabbard, only an end cap flush with the rest of the scabbard. A good give away would be to take close up pics of the fuchi (the copper colored band of metal between the sword guard and the handle) Usually the arsenal stamps on the fuchi of repros. are sloppy and larger than normal.

I agree with all who say this is a Chinese fake. Incorrecct material and details are a dead giveaway.

    Thanks bob!
I'm not used with this kind of sword and details...I believe you've seen several fakes with different qualities. Does the scabbard in fakes are made of brass? This one, when you look at the serial number region, looks like to be made of. Concerning the markings, they look well engraved. Does their meaning are wrong? Do you know how long does china flood the market with fake ncos? Last one, now about the serial number. Does it say something more about being a fake? The way they are marked, 6 digits....
    I'm only trying to understand...

    King regards,
