    I love Japanese officer's hats. They look better than american ones! I'd say this is another great example of what an army should look like.

    I agree, its been a little moth eaten but otherwise its in pretty good condition. Nice hat .

    I will pick it up this sunday.
    However, i found this one on collectors guild.
    Its has some diferences, in particular, the side button of the leather chinstrap.
    Its this normal?

    Nuno,
    I see these caps regularly in Japanese flea markets, they come in many variations of build and material type. It is difficult to find information on them and they don't seem to have any label in them. They are not necessarily officers caps, they were the general service cap used by all ranks for parades. I assume that officers would have had better quality or slight differences, but that is where my knowledge runs out. I will keep looking though because now you have me interested.
    The one you are looking at looks good, I've seen very few without these moth holes and it is clear it's original.

    Is the cap faded? The color I see makes it look like an enlisted mans or NCO visor. Would explain the buttons also. Still a nice original visor, with that great salty look.
