    No such thing as an Officers helmet friend.
    The Star is a replacement and not a star for a helmet.

    That is not kanji ... it is gibberish written to appear to be "oriental writing" executed by someone unfamiliar with Chinese characters.

    And to add. The net is not Japanese. It appears to be British (or maybe American - I get confused with these a bit) if it is even real at all

    Its a Swedish helmet made to look Japanese.

    I once bought one of these believing it to be a Japanese helmet. Did not pay a lot, and sold it on later at no loss as a Swedish helmet.... We are not always so lucky!
