This might be a bit off track but it sort of links in with bombs being found and parts thereof, here in england there was a series called Danger UXB, all about a ww2 bomb disposal unit, a very good series but they showed a number of devices dropped by the Luftwaffe, one of which was called a butterfly bomb which consisted of a explosive charge on a shaft and above that a four vaned rotor system . This device was released from an aircraft and spiralled downwards like a helicopter. For weeks after the programme was aired Police stations around the london and outer districts were inundated with people bringing these things in that they had found in trees, on their allotments and back gardens and had kept in their sheds for yrs or their wardrobes, cupboards etc, funny thing was none of them had detonated.
