    It came down to an issue of no respect for the information you received here and those who helped you . When you posted the same information on another site, what does that say about what you learned here? If you want further information on the blade, post pictures of the tang as requested.

    This is likely the work of Masayuki of Bungo Provence, the village of Takata, which was a famous center for sword forging on the southern island of Kyushu. His peak time of production was in the Genroku Period 1688-1704. The Takata swords are not considered to be of high quality work but are highly rated for their sharpness. When showing the tang of a sword, it is always important to display it vertical and the complete tang. The shape of the nakago is all part of judgement to the maker of the blade.

    That confirms my opinion on this blade. Over the years, I have owned two katana and one wakizashi by this smith. The short signature is unusual as he usually signed "Bushu Takata Ju Masayuki Saku."
