    Default Japanese trench art ashtray

    Hi,

Another of my peices id like to share with all of you is this-

A japanese trench art ashtray, no idea what type of shell it was made from but it has the Nagoya Arsenal mark. The round in the center is a 7.7x58mm Arisaka.

Have to excuse my chubby hand, just finished a bulking up period(bodybuilding, another hobby of mine. well, more of a lifestyle.)

    Cheers-

    Darren

I have always been quite fond of trench art as its very personal. This piece cost me around $80 AUD if i remember correctly and i have used it.

You are quite right about it being a conversation piece.

    Cheers-

hi Darren , i like trench art also and i have a couple of British pieces . I really like your ashtray although they are becoming obsolete these day`s I can just make out a date on the large shell of Showa 14 which translates to 1939 , thanks for showing it ,

Hi Alan, 1939 you say, thanks for that.

I have to agree that trench art is becoming rarer these days, i see allot of vases and the occasional cigarette case but not much else.
But im sure there is more out there. As for my ashtray, i use it and im sure it decreases the value somewhat but i dont intend to sell it

    Cheers-

    Darren
