Hi Michael-san,
Thank you very much for posting your items.
Great looking tunics !!
The charaters that I can make out are:
東洋 (Touyou) - East Ocean
つな (Tsuna) - Probably, a family or unit name?? Interesting.
Cheers!

The "M" breast branch of service patch was discontinued by the time that type of collar tabs were introduced. Makes my wonder if all insignia weren't added post war? Photos from under the collar might Lear this up showing how tabs were attached. Are there hand written kanji for owners name inside your tunics ?

Jareth,
Can do tomorrow. (wait tomorrow is mothers day). Will try for Monday or tomorrow evening. Assume you are talking about the tunic with the white patch over the "M".
Thanks!

Guy,
Evcharisto, Danke, arigatou gozaimasu and thanks a million. This is great. I love putting a name to a piece. My wife can read some Kanji but really can't translate it.
Assume the rest is the manufacturer, etc? Correct?
Thanks again,
Michael

The A that I cannot make out looks like "A型" A-kata [A-Form]. Does that make any sense to the uniform-experts? Or unit-experts?
