If anyone can translate the two dark Kanji on each side of the "large" marking, it would be very much appreciated.

Hi Phil,

It is a family name derived from a location. I am presuming the Kamimizo name derived from someone who lived "above a rift" or "above a ditch/split/crevice"; not unlike the family name "Yamash!ta" derives from someone who lived "below the mountain."
