Just got this flag in the mail today, it is my first Japanese flag it is made from silk and has a lot of kanji. I also have some information on the soldier who captured it.

The seller sent me the info about his post war activities but I don't know much about what he did during the war, here is the only war info, taken from his dog tags (these were also for sale)

    BRENNAN
    T.J.
    284789
    TYPE-0
    T 12/42
    USMC

    Apparently he served from 42-44

Also if anyone could translate the kanji that would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance and enjoy

    Hi Adam
Looks a nice flag i cant help with the Kanji but would say try to keep it out of sun light, silk is very fragile.
