Default My Japanese Rising Sun War/Banzai flag.

Got this from an veteran collector in the US recently

The flag was taken from a japanese soldier during the war and is said to have some blood spots on it since he was KIA.
I putted it behind glass myself so it would stay in position cause it was very wrinkled and smelled pretty old.

Please tell me what you think of it

    Regards, Conny

Great flag and it looks like a blood stain to me.

A nice example of a Joukyokujitsuki Japanese Army Battle Flag. These are much rarer than the Hinomaru, or 'Good Luck' flag and the ones I have seen are all of the coarser linen material (like your flag) whereas the Hinomaru are generally silk. The Navy version has the sun slightly offset to the left. Incidentally, these flags were flown with the right side attached to the pole, or very often a rifle.

The stains look like blood to me: very similar to the stains on the one I have.

    Thanks for posting.
