An NCO samurai sword

Article about: This is an NCO Samurai I picked up. I'm not the biggest on these but I must admit these are a fierce looking weapon.

Thanks. They assist me to confirm that is a 2A version with the cut away front seppa (washer/spacer) and the shape of the saya (scabbard) drag is as it should be for a Tokyo First Arsenal sword.

The absence of stampings on the iron fuchi versions is not unusual.

    Stu

Stu W. Thanks again for the response. Is there anyway to determine approximate date of production?

Although there are a couple schools of thought on dating these swords I subscribe to the Dawson timeline. Have a look at the pinned thread and you can see where yours fits in.

    Stu W,
