    Hello,
My father brought a katana home from greece in the 70s/80s i'm 99% sure it's a fake but it's all metal and i want to get an experts upinion on it.
I can't open the sword anymore i have tried for the last 2 hours it seems stuck it did open before, if i could get some tips on unsheating it i could show the actual blade.

I would agree, you have a reproduction Japanese officers sword. I am not saying it is well made but it looks better than most fakes I have seen. I would like to see the blade.

Sounds like you need a peg in the handle to hold it in place.

    Thanks for the help!
It's definetly a reproduction there are no markings and it looks to new, but it still makes for a great display piece.

The ishizuke, ashi, and kabuto-gane look legit, or they are SO well produced they look real. Even the fuchi and koiguchi are precise. Everything else looks wrong, though. I've got a poor fake with the same tsuba!
Like you say, the item looks good enough for a display.
