    Harry, what you thought was a type 18 is also a civil defense helmet. The Type 1918 was never really worn and what it looked like actually remains a total mystery to this day. What a lot of people seem to regard as the 1918 model is actually the 1922 model before it got the cherry blossom.     I'm not doing very well with Japanese helmets am I?
    At least the Type 90 was correct... Ah well, back to the drawing board!
