Type 22 Murata bayo that I found in an antique mall marked "bayonet unknown". Most people would not know what it is as these are very uncommon to stumble across. It came with a Hiatt Birmingham 1922 marked English frog. I know that bayo's get paired up with the wrong frogs all the time, but the fact that it looks like it had been in it forever and the fact that the mum has been marked out, leads me to believe that this was most likely used by someone in the home guard at the end of the war and turned in after the surrender.

Very unusual bayonet. One I have never seen before either.

You have to wonder about the design though - who would
have seen the need for the addition of only 1.5 inches
of wood plus a nut and bolt on the grip.........?
    Regards,

    Steve.

I always wondered that too, why bother with the wood at all or at least make it larger. The 1st model grip, while actually being smaller, had a larger wood grip panel.

Yours is a beauty too Jareth! Wish mine had the proper frog like yours, but they are nearly impossible to find and quite expensive.
