Got this helmet on ebay some years ago.

Removed 2 layers of paint and got this helmet.

Ahhhhhhh.... okay. Some people write V/R for "very respectfully" when writing to senior level officers; I guess in this case, he means "B/R" -- I'll try to remember.

And I was thinking he might be a monk in a religious order!

Nice job of removing paint just goes to show you never know what lies beneath wasn't that a old movie? I have had it happen on German models. BTW Nice Japanese Naval helmet. timothy
