Great cups and nice pictures gentlemen.

Here is one of my favorites:

This is a neat cup. I probably wouldn't use this one for target practice

    Hi Guy,
Re your comment on spacing of the kanji on the flask, now think that the horizontal I thought was ichi in Yokaichi could be a six, in the sunlight am getting a diagonal stroke under it to the left.

On the base there is no sign of anything being removed, clear glaze with the label remnant cleared.
    Cheers,
    Tony

Maybe going down a rabbit hole regarding Yokaichi ..... but I did find that Toshiro Mifune trained there.

    世界的に有名な映画俳優・三船敏郎さんが戦時中に陸軍八日市飛行場・
    第八航空教育隊(中部九十八部隊)に所属していたことは、比較的よく知られている。

It is relatively well known that world famous movie actor Toshio Mifune belonged to the Eighth Aviation Education Corps during the war (Chūbu [Central Japan] 98th Company) at Yatsukaichi Army Airfield.

Nowhere near as pretty as some/most of the preceding examples, but this is one of just two that I own (not really my thing, just picked them up super-cheap).
All I know is that it refers to the 37th Something...

    Many thanks ghp!
I wondered if that was Infantry, but the kanji looked a little off, though hand-written text (in any language), is always going to be subject to variation.
I struggle with Japanese and cannot really advance beyond numbers (the easy bit), I’m afraid!

Many thanks for your invaluable help,
    Bob
