The mei reads Kikumon Izumi no Kami Kanesada. The swwordsmith worked in Musashi Provence(Tokyo area) and was most productive in the Kyoho era which ran from 1716 to 1736. The kikumon indicates that this swordsmith received some financial support from the Imperial Houselhold.
