Can't help on the translation unfortunately but I'm having doubts on the originality of the IJA helmet. While it may be the pictures (I know it's cold in Mass right now) outside pictures in indirect sunlight/Overcast is best) the shell does not match the contition of the interior. Additionally, that liner system looks brand new. I think it's a Repro.

Don't have pictures of mine so check out this example.

"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

Hmmmmm .... I don't trust the one with the burned in information.

    Helmet 1.
    石村 ...雄
    Ishimura ~o

    花村
    Hanamura
Not willing to translate the rest because it's probably bogus.

IMHO it is definately a fake liner at minimum. I can not tell about the shell from the pictures. I'm also not liking the star from what I can see.

Willing to be proven wrong but I'm pretty sure everyone will agree as well. I should have been more definitive In my first statement LoL and not sound so wishy washy.

    Sorry.

Just for kicks and grins, here's the translation of the burned info in the second helmet:

    東京都
    Tōkyō-to
    世田谷区北澤
    Setagaya-ku Kitazawa
    二 - 一六七
    2-167

    花村弥太郎
    Hanamura Yatarō

I think we'd write it like this in the American fashion:

    Mr. Yatarou Hamamura
    Kitazawa 2-Chome 167
    Setagaya Ward, Tokyo City

    The date:
    昭和十八年八月
    August 1943

Just for more fun ...here's the location on Google Maps
The pink area is the entire 2-chome area of Kitazawa.

    Regarding helmet #1

    石村吾雄

    Ishimura Goyū

I'm not 100% certain on because the is very faint, and the last three strokes "" actually looks like on the helmet.

Above the name is a very faint city name. All I can make out is what looks like:
    田町
    Tamachi

Or, if missing a leading kanji, it could even be []田町 Machida-shi [near where I lived] ... but that's just a wild guess.
