I don't know much. But ... if original, it is in unissued condition, the stamp is not filled out with issue date, name, etc. And, if unissued, why are the tabs of a private first class sewn on?

It's genuine. The iissue stamps say (oblong one) 98 Type and the square with vertical lines says it's a size 6, made in Showa 17 or 1942. It's the cotton summer version.
Decided to totally renovate this post because it strikes me as more uncomfortable and less funny after reading through it again. Thanks for liking it anyway Steve!

Looks like mine. Can't comment on when the insignia was put on however.

Original tunic & tabs but tabs added post war
