From what I can see my sense is that it's a rework stamp of some kind. Best Regards, Fred
Its F.W.Holler 1934 S code stamp, same opinion as FP about the 7S, it could be it was rework stamp, the blueing was refurbished probably. b.r.Andy
Hello,
i think this is a internal german unit marking. Vorbidden since 1934, some german units made the own markings... or this is equimnet for any other unit like the Zollgrenzschutz . You can see it also on captured bayonets.
S with a nuber is typical for this. 7.S for example you can find on a pommel of a Vz24/S24(t) on the page of old.smithy and here is an other variant
I saw the S on various S84/98 bayonets, anyway the 7 digit is there strange, as normally there is serial on ricasso. 7 and S is different high fonts. b.r.Andy
