Too bad about the heavy polishing. Did someone try and smooth out the grips? Still nice to be matching numbers.

Yep, shame about the finish but at the price I got it for I couldn't complain. I think the grips are just from wear over the years rather than someone actually trying to sand them down or whatever. I think the picture makes them seem a lot more worn than they actually are, the worn bit is exactly where your fingers go around the grips when you pick it up.

Blueing on scabbard was greatly preserved by frog probably.
