    Hey guys,

    This bayonet is on sale for $115 is it worth it? THe only marking are "simson and co suhl" and there is a "D6###" on the back near the button that you press to unlock the bayonet, if you know what im talking about, but I forget the rest of the number :O

    Here are the pics. The blade is really dark (blued?)

    I think it is Portuguese - either or Model 1904 Mauser-Vergueiro bayonet or Model 1934 Steyr Solothurn SMG Bayonet.

    I agree it is a Mauser-Vergueiro bayonet and I would pay $115 for it.

    Just had to look up one of these , and found that ( unlike the one shown ) the version for the MP34 ( also exported to Portugal ) had an EXTENDED muzzle ring .. ?

    Portuguese Mauser Vergeiuro M1904 bayo (and rifle fore end).

    Im currently looking at a bayonet similar to this one. I thought that I had it ID'd as an S71/84 but after reading this thread Im not so sure. What are some things to look for that would help with the ID process?
