Another favorite. This one has never been shortened. The blade is 43 cm. it is an Eickhorn and unit marked S W L 342. This is for the Schupo Administrative District of Wiesbaden. It is slotted and I have been told that is rare. You can see in the case photo how much longer it is than a standard Police buckle.

Great looking bayo Kirby! Being a functional bayonet, does make it more rare, even though the slot only allowed it to be mounted to older German rifle models, such as the G88 and k98a, if I am remembering correctly. But, I would say that having made it through the Nazi period without having any more modifications than the grip eagle makes it even more rare in my eyes.

    Thanks

When I bought the bayonet I didn't even notice it was longer than my other police bayonets.

That is a really nice one, I love the early clamshell bayos, you can really see the side by side difference with an original and a rework. Somewhere out there there is a huge pile of cut off clamshells lol Cool stuff!!!!

I've always liked the looks of the staghorn police bayonets and especially so the early old clam shells. They Really make a statement! Very nice find! Was the price reasonable? These can be quite pricey!

Extremely nice . One of the things I 'like' is that
the grip panels are well matched.........

    Steve.
